What kind of materials do you use?
I use vine charcoal, charcoal pencils, blending stumps, kneading erasers, and white erasers for drawing on archival paper.

Do you sell prints?
Yes! Use the “Contact Me” page to inquire about prints of my wildlife portrait drawings. These giclée prints are made with high quality archival ink and paper which is specially selected to accurately reproduce the rich value range provided by drawing with charcoal. With proper care they will last for generations to com They are available in various sizes which accommodate standard frame sizes.

How are my prints shipped?
Giclée prints are sold unmounted or mounted to your choice of white or black mat. The unmounted print can be shipped by your choice of flat shipping or rolled in a tube, which allows for less expensive shipping but the print may need some time to flatten once you remove it. If you are custom mounting and framing your print the mounting process with flatten the paper. Otherwise it may take a day or so for the paper flatten on its own. Prints shipped with a mat cannot be rolled and are shipped flat to be ready for framing.

What happens if my print arrives damaged?
If your print is damaged during shipping please contact me within 24 hours. Please send pictures of the print and the box or tube it was shipped in to verify the damage. Once verified I will then work with you to have a replacement shipped or a refund issued.

How long will my pet portrait commission take to complete?
Once work has begun on the pet portrait it will take on average 3-4 weeks for completion and will be packaged and shipped when the final payment is made.

What if I can’t get a good photo reference?
Sometimes it’s just not possible to get a good reference photo. I will gladly look at some of the best you can provide. I may be able to make something work even if the photo quality isn’t the best for whatever reason. However, if I don’t believe I can achieve a high quality drawing I will turn down the commission rather than try to force a portrait that neither of us will be proud of.

When will you start working on my custom pet portrait?
Once we have agreed on a good reference photo I will invoice you for the non refundable 50% deposit via email. Once the deposit is paid your commission is placed on the schedule and I will begin working at that appointed time or sooner if an opening becomes available in the schedule.

How will my custom pet portrait be shipped?
Your custom pet portait will mounted and protected inside a clear bag to protect from moisture and dust during shipping. The portrait is then placed inside a durible portrait case and surrounded by bubble packaging inside of a currogated box for shipping via USPS, UPS, or FedEx.

Can I make a copy of my commissioned pet portrait?
If you are interested in purchasing a high quality reproduction of your custom pet portrait for additional friends or family members please let me know and I will see how I can accommodate. Although the custom pet portrait is based on your photograph I retain all copyright to the work that I do and as such the original drawing you receive may not be copied or reproduced by anyone other than the artist.

Are custom sizes available for pet portraits?
Custom sizes are not available at this time. I offer 8x10 and 11x14 drawings which are mounted to fit a standard sized frame for your convenience.

What happens if my pet portrait arrives damaged?
If your pet portrait arrives damaged please contact me within 24 hours with pictures of the damaged portrait and the box it was shipped in to verify the damage. Once verified we will discuss the return of the damaged portrait and the the timeframe for completing the replacement portrait.

Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are offered in the event of a damaged print. If an accidental order was made you must contact me within 24 hours of purchase to cancel the order.
